Matthew & Mary
Dear Birth Mother,
Thank you for taking time to get to know a little about us and the life we would offer your baby. We truly believe there is no greater act of love than to make an adoption plan.
We have been married for nine years. Our dream of having children came true in 2006 with the adoption of our son Benjamin. We loved him from the moment we met, and thank God for his birth mother for giving us this amazing gift. Hopefully, after getting to know us you will feel that our family will be a wonderful fit for the child you are carrying.
A child welcomed into our large extended family will have terrific grandparents, aunts, uncles, ten cousins and lots of other relatives eager to love him/her. Almost every member of our families live within a two hours of our home, so family get-togethers happen a lot for holidays, birthdays and more.
Matthew grew up on a small farm where his father and step mother still live. His mother passed away several years ago. He is very close with his two brothers and their families as well as his grandmother and extended family. Matthew is the Creative Director for a growing company and has a flexible schedule that sometimes allows him to work from home and take extra time off as he wants to. He enjoys awide variety of activities including sports, art, music and camping.
Mary also grew up in a wonderful loving family. Her parents have been married for over 50 years. Grandchildren are the center of their lives. Mary is also close to her brother, sister and their families. She works part time from home for a small marketing company. When outside childcare is needed, we have a wonderful, loving nanny who comes to the house.
Mary enjoys reading, cooking, gardening and jogging but one of her greatest passions is helping others. She and Bo (the family dog) are certified Pet Therapy Partners and as a team, visit a local children’s hospital. Both Mary and Matthew are active volunteers at church and Benjamin’s preschool.
Benjamin is an energetic, fun, imaginative and very inquisitive five year-old. He loves preschool and going on family adventures to the park, zoo and science center. Benjamin also loves spending time with his cousins, who all adore him. We know that he will be a terrific big brother!
Bo, our Chocolate Lab, is a kids dream! He loves to play and is extremely gentle. We also have a sweet and friendly cat named Sonny. He and Benjamin frequently play chase through the house.
We have a comfortable home in a quiet neighborhood with a spacious sunny bedroom just waiting for our new family member to arrive . Our church is only a few minutes away and the near-by schools are excellent. There is a pond two blocks away for fishing and feeding ducks.
We are blessed with a terrific circle of friends, most with small children, several of whom were adopted. Benjamin has been brought up surrounded by people who understand how special adoption is and how lucky we were to have received such a gift! We regularly talk with him about his birth mother and their adoption story.
Besides the farm, Matthew’s dad has a house and boat on a nearby lake where we spend lots of time in the summer. He also has a home in Florida that is ours to use for vacations whenever we like. We enjoy large family vacations to the beach where all the kids can play together.
We have been very blessed in our lives by each other, Benjamin, wonderful families and friends. We are anxious to share our lives with another child and to show him/her many great things the world has to offer, with the greatest of all being the love and security of family.
Thank you for getting to know us,
Matthew and Mary
