Dear Birthmom,
We are Lorie and Doug. Thanks so much for giving us this opportunity to share with you some information about us, our family, and our hopes and dreams for a child. We admire your incredible courage and strength and are grateful that you love your unborn child so much that you are willing to consider an adoption plan. We are prepared to give your child a life filled with much love, laughter, and many opportunities. You will fulfill our dreams of giving a child a wonderful life and bright future.
We own a cozy home on a quaint tree-lined street in a quiet neighborhood. We have a sunny backyard perfect for a swing set and a sandbox. Our neighborhood is a great place for families. Our home is located within walking distance to several parks, playgrounds, a public library, cultural events and interesting restaurants.
Through the work of Adoption Bridges of Kentucky, we were blessed with our son, Cooper, in March 2009 and we are ready to grow our family again. Cooper is a very happy, confident child and we know he will make a wonderful big brother!
Lorie’s profession allows her eight weeks of adoption leave to spend with the baby. Doug’s position at UPS also allows him time off when the baby is born. Lorie’s mom will care for the baby in our home every day once we go back to work. Lorie’s mom is overjoyed about being a full-time ‘Nana’!
We both have large extended families. We spend all holidays and special occasions including graduations, baptisms, sporting events, and summer picnics together as a family. Our families are very proud of and thrilled about our decision to adopt again. They are very excited to welcome a new member to the family!
We lead a very active lifestyle which includes hiking and jogging. We are members of a runnung club and have trained for and completed many races including the KY Derby Festival mini-marathon. We also love to travel and look forward to many family trips to the beach!
We know that we were meant to be parents. We have so much room in our hearts to love two children. You would be giving us the greatest gift imaginable by adding to our family. We believe that if given the chance, we will provide your child with a home full of love, laughter, adventure, support, and stability.
