Dear Birthmother
We are Chris and Novia and we welcome you to the story of our family and our life together, a life we hope to share with your child. But first we want you to know how inspired we are by your courage. We know that by choosing adoption, you’re placing the wellbeing of your child above everything else. If you allow us to, we promise to fill your child’s life with much love, encouragement, opportunity and joy. 
We’ve been together for more than 10 years and we’re more than just life partners – we’re the best of friends. We both love spending time with our families and friends, making each other laugh, playing with our animals, traveling, and sharing new adventures. That sense of adventure has led to our enjoying things like scuba diving, white water rafting, snow-mobiling, and parasailing. We’ve both worked as volunteers with youth groups, Chris coaching youth sports and Novia working with at-risk youth. We lead a very active, but stable and comfortable life and we’re very excited by the prospect of seeing new things, and familiar things anew, through a child’s eyes.
Our large extended families are very supportive of our decision to adopt and can’t wait to welcome your child into the family. Our diverse network of friends are equally excited by our plans and can’t wait to include a child into our activities. Several of them have young children and three are adopted. Chris also has two adopted siblings, so we understand and respect your decision. We are committed to the open adoption process and your child will know that your choice in making an adoption plan was a loving one.
We’ve been planning for a family through adoption for several years now and we designed our home with our future family in mind. It sits in a quiet subdivision that includes many other families with children. We have a very large yard, with lots of trees and it’s perfect for family BBQ’s , birthday parties, swing-sets, treehouses, and just about anything else your child may want to do to play and explore.
We are both thrilled at the prospect of opening our hearts, our home, and our lives to a child, and we would be honored to give your child a loving home. You can be certain your child will grow up knowing his or her heritage and background. We plan to teach your child the importance of open-mindedness, respect, and tolerance and we’ll raise your child to be confident and independent knowing he or she is loved unconditionally.
We hope that within our story you can see a life full of love and promise for your child. Should you choose us as parents for your baby, we will commit ourselves to nurturing and providing for your child and to ensuring her/his happiness.
